Like millions around this nation and the world, the assassination of Charlie Kirk hit us hard. The cultural trauma is deep, unlike anything in recent memory.  America crossed a line on September 10th.  Much like “the shot heard round the world” on April 19, 1775, which sparked the American Revolutionary War, the killing of Charlie Kirk has changed America and the world.

Charlie Kirk’s assassination is one of two traumatic and collective experiences that just rocked the world. First, the world watched Charlie be assassinated for daring to engage in public debate on a university campus.

America and the whole world witnessed a 22 yr. old man kill Charlie while he was speaking, for simply speaking about things the killer hated. The killer was radicalized through an American education system that has been teaching our children for decades to hate all the core principles America was founded upon, including Biblical truths about race and gender.

Less than a month ago, America watched horrified as fellow passengers on a North Carolina public transit train ignored a young Ukrainian woman bleeding to death after being stabbed because she was white.

Americans were further shaken when school children in a Minneapolis Catholic school were slain and wounded by a self-identified trans shooter because he hated them for what they believed.

All the killers believed they were perfectly justified in killing these people…to silence them.

Since the 1970’s, the cultural revolution has been fought primarily through “fifth-generation warfare” – mind manipulation using deceitful language and intense censorship of all that is true and real. We’ve all been indoctrinated and suppressed to some extent by the fraudulent media, language police, and cancel-culture. The take-over of K-12 public schools by administrations and teachers who are Marxist ideologues is almost fully complete because the current crop has known nothing but this system.

And so they hate what Charlie Kirk stood for. Charlie was reeducating their students with the foundational truths about our nation’s core principles and heritage, our love of God, our love for children and our families. He understood that “our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other,” as John Adams so famously told us. He impacted generations of young people—in particular, young men, and exhorted them to embrace their God-given identities and responsibilities as men, and to unapologetically love God, their country and their families.

He died doing what he had been doing for almost two decades – engaging in civil dialogue on college campuses with people who did not share his political beliefs or worldview. Millions more here and around the world who hadn’t known of him before were shaken by what happened to him, because he was killed for his words.

The second traumatic experience was watching the public celebration of his death. The symbol of this evil is the man in the Utah crowd who leapt to his feet to cheer while the rest of the crowd huddled in fear and shock as Charlie died. The Leftist crowd and the mainstream media even blamed Kirk for his own death, accusing him of “hateful words” that triggered and justified the violence.

Every day, uninvolved people watched with horror and disbelief, realizing suddenly that the murder of Charlie Kirk was more than the work of a single deranged perpetrator. They watched as his murder was celebrated as a liberating act on behalf of the revolution. Our children heard their teachers and we heard co-workers and friends cheering and mocking his death!

In fact, the Left took ownership of the assassination. “Someone had to do it,” remarked one student. Others expressed shared macabre unity by exclaiming, “We did it!” all across public places and social media.

President Trump described this warfare in his eulogy during the powerful Charlie Kirk memorial on September 21st: “On campuses all over the country, his quest for open dialogue was met with menacing hate. There were bomb threats, pulled fire alarms, and countless rage-filled radicals who tried to shout him down.” Trump continued, “Antifa terrorists shattered windows, threw rocks, and tried to storm the buildings where Charlie was speaking…Often dozens of police were needed to prevent left-wing violence.”

“The gun was pointed at him (Charlie), but the bullet was aimed at all of us.”

Experts say that people experience profound change in one of two ways—slowly over a long period of time or suddenly through a traumatic emotional experience. The whole world is suffering from PTSD now with the trauma of discovering that an army of our own neighbors living right here among us hate who we are, what we believe, and they want us dead because we refuse to bend the knee to their madness. Like a spotlight switched on in the darkness, everything changed.  There has been a great awakening.

People who have not been especially engaged in culture, politics or faith issues have been rocked to their core. Social media is filling up with posts like this.

Notice there were almost 30,000 replies as of September 12th!

Here is another post by a young woman which has reached nearly a million views as of this writing.

By September 19, 2025, TPUSA received more than 62,000 new chapter inquiries from college and high school students. The day before Kirk’s assassination, TPUSA had 900 official college chapters and around 1,200 high school chapters. They suddenly recognize that if thousands are celebrating a man being murdered on live TV for simply debating ideas they also believe, their own lives, their own freedom, and their children’s future are all targets for destruction.

This is the turning point. Young people are coming. They are coming for answers. They are coming for truth. They are asking for help. They want to become “Charlie Kirks” that make a difference for freedom. Fortunately, Charlie gave us a template. He committed his life to acting and speaking truthfully and charitably. He did not succumb to fear.

When we at Child Protection League have said we’re in a genuine cultural revolution, we meant it. It is not a metaphor. Children and young people are being systematically targeted for destruction, because they are the future of our nation. Every institution has been weaponized against them, including the entire mental health industry. Xi Van Fleet, a survivor of China’s cultural revolution, begs us to recognize that what happened in China is happening here—schools are filling the young with hate and violence toward one another so they will become the Red Guard of the revolution…useful foot soldiers who will kill anyone for the “cause.”

This is a defining moment for our future. On Sunday, Sept 21 In his substack column about the worldwide celebration and honoring of Charlie’s life Jeff Childers wrote:

It is absolutely impossible to calculate the direct and indirect consequences from so many like-minded people participating together in this classic ritual of remembrance… collective sadness and mourning creates strong “identity fusion.” In other words, people see themselves as united with other mourners, making them even more committed to the group and its values, and fueling collective action.”

He is correct. We are all experiencing and becoming part of something incredible that no one would have foreseen two weeks ago. While we deeply mourn the loss of Charlie, his courage and sacrifice have awakened millions. And we all have a role to fill. So, find your voice. Find your arena.

Then get in it.
