No, President Trump is not defunding your public library.

On March 14, 2025, President Donald J. Trump signed executive order Continuing the Reduction of the Federal Bureaucracy. Its purpose is to reduce the federal bureaucracy by reducing the non-statutory elements of several federal agencies including the Institute of Museum and Library Services (ILMS).
Right on cue, the American Library Association (ALA) and the education cartel mounted a fear campaign that President Trump was defunding libraries! “We call on all Americans who value reading, learning, and enrichment to reach out to their elected leaders,” they implored the faithful moms who frequent libraries.
The truth, however, is that federal funding is just a fraction of the total funding of your local library. All are funded primarily by city, county, and state taxes and other revenue streams. But the federal money comes with heavy leverage. And that’s why the President’s targeted cut is exactly what we want and need.
Who is the ILMS?
The ILMS is a federal agency that administers discretionary federal spending. In 2024 they were allocated $294 million in taxpayer dollars which they in turn awarded to museums, libraries, archives, and other similar organizations throughout the United States through grants, research, and policy development.
Like so many other federal agencies, the ILMS is fully woke. Their grants are targeted to promote a radical agenda. For example, ILMS led several breakout sessions at the American Library Association (ALA)’s 2024 annual conference. Their sessions included Preparing Tomorrow’s Library Leaders with an EDI Lens (EDI is Equity, Diversity and Inclusion — DEI) and “Let Us Help Advance the Field”: Neurodivergent Librarian Voices Shaping Neuroinclusive Library Workplaces. (Being neurodivergent strongly associates with gender identity ideology and embraces the entire spectrum of LGBTIQA+++ ).
The ALA itself has been entirely radicalized. Their 2024 Annual Conference was littered with EDI/DEI. ALA’s President, Emily Drabinski, describes herself as a Marxist lesbian. The day she was elected in 2022 she tweeted this:
In a 28-minute interview with “All of It” after her 2022 election, “book bans” were discussed. The ALA considers parental objections to perverse and vulgar books in schools to be dangerous censorship. The ALA misrepresents parental objections as “bans.” In fact, they position themselves as the guardians of free speech! Children, the ALA believes, should be allowed and even encouraged to read these books because it’s their “right.”

Not once during the entire 28-minute interview did Drabinski acknowledge that it was the vulgar and pornographic CONTENT of the books that parents object to and want removed from school libraries. Instead, she slandered parents who oppose these books as “violent” people in a “moral panic”, “black/brown racists”, “armed, christo-fascists”, “right wing extremists”, and “domestic terrorists” bringing “guns to libraries.” We highly recommend that you listen to the entire interview to understand just how radical she is and to hear her open disdain for parents and parental authority.
Drabinski has frequently lectured on Teaching the Radical Catalog, which advocates for pointing students toward books that lead them to their brand of “queerness.” “There were so many ways to be gay. And it was my job to teach those students how to find themselves in our library catalog” [at Sarah Lawrence University], she stated.
Drabinski teaches that “queerness includes the subversion” of “normal family types.” That would be the traditional family.
Follow the money
The radical ILMS funds the ALA. The ALA in turn regulates the content of libraries and schools by their recommended books. The ALA is also the reason Drag Queen Story Hours continue being a ‘thing’ in our communities. Adult men, who are seldom screened with background checks, dress as hyper-sexualized caricatures of women and read LGBTQ-affirming books to children and toddlers. They often suggestively dance and interact closely with the children. In fact, many children are invited to sit on their laps…even play wrestle with them. This is sexual grooming!

The drag scene is no place for children! Drag should never be normalized for children or presented as fun and games. The drag community includes many unhealthy men with sexual fetishes, drug use, and appetites for gay sex and pedophilia. As John Uhler LPC said:
“Drag Queen story hours are the greatest grooming program ever devised.”
The ILMS grants to the ALA help them embed the shaming EDI/DEI, gender bending, and perverse and vulgar books, many of which describe in explicit detail sexual practices and behavior. Many ALA-recommended books for teens expose young, highly impressionable minds to pedophilia, rape, incest, sexual assault, abuse, porn, and the neglect of children.
The ALA and its library system are funding child abuse. Exposing young minds to perversion and graphic sexual details and drawing them into the perspective of the one experiencing such things is MIND RAPE OF THE CHILD. Children cannot on their own even conceive of this. And children who have already been victimized will be retraumatized. These books are emotional bombs in young minds.
Porn operates like a cult.
Porn is a FORMATIVE EXPERIENCE for adults and many more times so for minors. Porn generates confusing feelings and arousals in children that they cannot process. Though porn often glorifies violence, sexism, or racism, a recent survey found that over half of boys (53%) and over a third of girls (39%) reported believing that pornography was a realistic depiction of sex. And porn is highly addictive. Those seduced into porn often progress to ever more violent and dangerous imagery to continue reaching the ‘feelings’ they had experienced before.
Child Protection League and parents across America are deeply indebted to President Trump for his keen attention to halting the public funding of the purveyors of this horrific attack on our children. His Executive Order aims to:
revitalize IMLS and restore focus on patriotism, ensuring we preserve our country’s core values, promote American exceptionalism and cultivate love of country in future generations. (Keith E. This is exactly what the government agencies should be promoting!
Don’t fall for the fear campaign.

Marxist radicals have launched a campaign to preserve their power over our libraries by deceptively presenting the ILMS and the ALA as the defenders of the “most beloved and trusted of American institutions.” The ALA blasted an email across the nation: “And we call on all Americans who value reading, learning, and enrichment to reach out to their elected leaders” to stop the funding cut. They are attempting to rally to their defense the very parents they despise.
It’s time to take back our libraries. President Trump is doing just that. He deserves and needs our support.
