“Experts” Retreat From Their Own Gender-Care Standards
Remember that time your doctor prescribed medication for your sickness, but instead of getting better, you got much worse, and the doctor told you that wasn’t his problem, he was only giving his opinion? That it was ‘on you’ because it was “your choice” to follow his instructions?
We don’t remember that time either.
Incredibly that is the “strategy” the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) is using to try to evade any responsibility for the sexual mutilation of thousands of gender confused youth!
WPATH was long accepted and deferred to as the “gold standard” for transgender medicine and treatment. They knew full well that theirs was the international standard for all mainstream organizations with direct influence on children. In the United States alone, this included the American School Counselors Association, the National Association for Suicide Prevention, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics and Planned Parenthood. WPATH’s standard of care was followed scrupulously by schools, hospitals, clinics, counsellors, legislators, nonprofits and many church bodies. The WPATH standard was the weapon delivered to shut down every objection to what came to be identified as “gender-affirming healthcare.” WPATH’s standard of gender-care was forced on the entire planet as indisputable settled science.
Failing to follow WPATH guidelines brought personal and professional attacks and denial of medically necessary treatments and therapies which addressed the underlying mental health issues behind their gender discomfort.
In states like Minnesota, WPATH guidelines were the hammer behind criminalizing any talk therapy that did not accept and affirm a minor’s gender dysphoria. WPATH guidelines are affirmation only.
CPL wrote extensively about WPATH and its unscientific, biology-denying “affirmation only” approach in treating gender dysphoria in youth.
In 2024, when the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) files were leaked, the world learned that “gender medicine” was “neither science nor medicine”, that the “organization does not meet the standards of evidence-based medicine”, and that WPATH members were “fully aware that children and adolescents cannot comprehend the lifelong consequences of “gender-affirming care.”
Shortly after WPATH’s “Standards of Care” were exposed as neither science nor medicine they were sued.
The Society for Evidence Based Medicine (SEGM) ) has been tracking the FTC’s case against WPATH on X. Two excerpts from their latest posts:
WPATH has conceded in court that its “Standards of Care” is merely an opinion. WPATH says it represents one side of an unsettled scientific debate marked by uncertainty — and physicians & orgs that rely on WPATH as the standard of care must bear “independent responsibility.”/1
And…
WPATH now agrees that pediatric transgender medicine is marked by “medical and scientific uncertainty.” It represents its SOC-8 recommendations merely as an expression of WPATH’s “free speech.” Yet for years, WPATH presented its guidelines as an unquestionable medical standard of care. The social and scientific costs of questioning their recommendations were steep and could be career-ending. /2
This is an astonishing development and a total admission that they were crafting and publishing guidelines that were nothing more than medical experiments on vulnerable children.
SEGM calls it the classic “buyer beware” defense.
Not only is it dishonest, it is cowardly and shameful.

Once again, an entire class of “professional” and civic organizations have imposed a false and deeply destructive deceit upon children and families. They have done immeasurable harm which can never be undone. We pray that WPATH and its administrators will be successfully and fully prosecuted for its crimes against humanity.
